School Council’s work in the local community

Bin don’t drop

Keep Wylde Green tidy! The School Council have been litter pickers working with Councillor Alex Yipp to clean up the streets in and around our school! We found a lot of sweet wrappers and plastic bottles down Green Lanes- please help us to keep our streets clean! Bin don't drop!

Wrap up Brum!

We worked with Mrs Pitt from Birmingham Cathedral to collect coats for those in need for the initiative Wrap up Brum. Our school donated over 400 items!

Slow down!

The School Council and Cllr Alex Yipp worked together to discuss speed awareness in and around our local area. We ran a poster competition to encourage adults to reduce their own speed and create a safer area for us all to live in.

Stock up!

Members of the School Council visited The Bethany Community Outreach Emergency Food Bank. We were shocked to hear that it ‘serves’ over 1,000 people every month and we now run a monthly food bank collection in our school to help those less fortunate.

Supporting national initiatives

School Council have also supported national charities and raised over £400 for both Red Nose Day and Children In Need! We decided to wear something spotty for Pugsy and for Red Nose Day we all wore something red and shared a joke too!
